Role summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to lead and manage the continued development of iTraX. This position offers an exciting opportunity to significantly influence global drug discovery practices by enhancing our leading workflow management platform tailored to different R&D applications.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including customers, developers, application scientists, QA, and sales, you will define, prioritise, and deliver product features that meet market demands and customer expectations.
Employment:
Full-time with 25 days annual leave.
Salary range:
Dependent on the suitability and level of experience of the candidate.
Location:
Hybrid remote working.
2 - 3 days office based (The Glasshouse, Alderley Park, SK10 4ZE, UK)

iTraX is our flagship software solution designed specifically to streamline and optimise the scientific research process, enhancing collaboration and efficiency across drug discovery workflows. It supports teams in managing complex R&D workflows within drug discovery and development, allowing seamless integration and visibility of outsourced tasks, improving decision-making, and accelerating project timelines.
What you'll do:
Working closely with the Head of Product, you will own the day to day management of the iTraX Backlog and Release Cycles, including (but not limited to):
- Ticket Creation & Refinement:
Work with the various teams and stakeholders to create and/or refine tickets for the main streams of work (Customer Projects, Product Roadmap, Small Change and Support). Translate high-level concepts into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring clarity for development teams, QA and other stakeholders
- Release Cycle Management:
Prioritise and plan the current and upcoming Release Cycles based on agreed priorities, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and resource capacity. Own and lead the various agile ceremonies, including (but not limited to) - Stand-ups, Refinement sessions, Retrospectives, Kick-off, etc.
- Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with QA to uphold high product quality standards, participating in testing and validation processes.
- Continuous Improvement:
Help foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaborating on ways to improve the Product and Delivery Processes.
- Facilitate Feature & Technical Discussions:
Drawing together the right stakeholders (for example Application Scientists, Customers, internal and external Technical experts, etc.) and ensuring that feature and / or technical requests are discussed, understood and documented.
- Documentation & Training:
Work with Application Scientists to create engaging materials such as presentations, white papers, and videos showcasing iTraX’s capabilities in solving drug discovery challenges.
- Market Analysis: Assist the Head of Product (and other Stakeholders) with Market, Customers research for industry trends and competitor analysis to inform product direction, any product gaps and identify innovation opportunities.
What we're looking for:
Essential Knowledge:
- Previous experience in a similar strategic product role(s), preferably with B2B enterprise cloud/SaaS products.
- Thorough knowledge of software development practices and agile methodologies (especially Kanban and Scrum).
Essential Skills:
- Advanced prioritisation and resource-balancing capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders.
- Expert presentation skills, comfortable engaging diverse audiences both in-person and remotely.
- Advanced teamwork and self-motivation capabilities.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role within software or life sciences industries.
Desirable knowledge and skills:
- Significant knowledge of drug discovery processes and of the pharmaceutical/biotech
- industry.
- Formal Product Owner qualification or certification.
- Background / previous experience as a Business Analyst or similar.
- Background / previous experience as a Delivery Lead, Scrum Master or similar.
- Experience drafting and responding to security questionnaires.
- Experience with iTraX or equivalent scientific, cloud, workflow management or informatics platforms.
- Degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Information Systems or related discipline.
